Looking at the landscape of software options for housing and residence life in the past year, there has been a lot of upheaval and change. One thing we’ve tried to do is remain constant and stick to our mission and values. We’re still that family-owned business laser-focused on being the best software specifically for residence life and education. We’re still that company providing one price and all the features. It’s fulfilling to work at a place where profit for shareholders isn’t the sole metric of success. We continue to do it because we love the work. Thank you for believing in us.
Looking Back
In January 2025, we set the most ambitious feature development schedule we’ve ever taken on:
Tasks: Assign tasks to your staff (campus-wide, building-wide, individually) however you want. It’s incredibly flexible, and it’s purpose-built for Residence Life. It’s truly magical to click a few buttons and see tasks appear amongst dozens of staff members, and to be able to track their progress.
Staffing: The best staff selection tool you’ll ever use. It manages the whole hiring pipeline: application (no account needed), application evaluations, a comprehensive interviewing process with scheduling, interview evaluations, selections, placements, notifications…everything you could ever need in a Staffing tool. It will do it all. It’s so comprehensive that it could be its own standalone product.
WolfieAI: An AI assistant baked into our features. Summarize hundreds of Form submissions, get an easily readable overview of a resident’s experience in your halls, and summarize your campus events.
You’ve probably noticed a lot of little enhancements, too, like uploads in events, redesigned interfaces, and a better tag and labeling system.
Beyond software, we continue to support leaders and creators in our field. This year we worked with a total of 9 bloggers and 5 podcast hosts. We started a new webinar series. If you haven’t checked our RA360, our open source textbook for student staff, lately, you can see some tremendous strides we’ve made in breadth and depth.
Content-wise, one last cherry on top: We released a new book! It’s an overview of the “Three C” Framework for residence life and education practice: Community, Curriculum, and Care. It draws from all of the wisdom we’ve gained over the last decade to help departments be more focused and clear in their residence education efforts. We also distributed about 1,000 free copies of our new book at regional conferences this Fall.
Lastly, we had multiple socials and meet-ups at various conferences throughout the country. Thank you to so many of you for joining us. It was great to see you all!

Looking Forward
We’ve been gradually and intentionally rolling out Staffing, and in early 2026 we will fully launch it to all campuses. We will also continue to refine Tasks based on the feedback you’ve been sending us. Thank you for your help, and please keep it coming!
For the first time ever, we’re hosting our own multi-day conference. We’re hosting the very first R2 (Roompact + Residence Life) Conference in Anaheim, California from October 21-23, 2026. We’ll be at The Anaheim Hotel, right across from Disneyland, and our conference will be happening immediately after ACPA’s Institute on the Curricular Approach. Dollar-for-dollar, it’s going to be the best in-person professional development opportunity ever. At just $249 for early registration, we’re going to make sure it’s packed with value.
In conjunction with the R2 conference, we’re launching a new program called Roompact Fellows. You can think of them as “scholars in residence.” They’ll be helping us in producing new content (through our blog, podcast, and webinars), be present at our R2 Conference, and also be available to you for consults throughout the year. It’s a way for us to support and give a platform to thoughtful leaders in our industry and, in turn, we’re going to learn a lot from them, too. They’re going to bring great value to you and will also help push forward our field as a whole. More to come. We’re very excited about this new program.
In closing, I’d like to thank all of you. Our partner campuses, our supporters, our friends, our colleagues… we couldn’t do any of this without you. We’ve been working with you for 12+ years now as an independent, family-owned company, and we plan to keep at this for decades to come. Just like you do on campus, we think through a long-term lens, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future.
