Shubham Agarwal joined the Roompact team as one of our Software Engineers in the summer of 2016. He works on the core development of many of the features of our software. Most recently he worked to overhaul and improve our staff scheduling feature, adding the ability for users to do shift trades and swaps on their own through an easy-to-use interface. Although you may not directly interact with Shubham, you likely use many of the features that he had a part in designing.

What philosophy or values inform your work? I really believe in maintaining a balance at work. Putting some time in learning something new everyday will keep you fueled, fresh, and excited to keep going on; at the same time, there are everyday things at work that need to be done. Also, developing a habit of trying to complete and perfect the current project you are working on instills a lot of discipline which is important to get results.
What is your favorite college memory? I definitely miss living on a college campus! My favorite memory is from my freshman year. Just outside our residence hall we had an area for beach volleyball. We used to have games in the evening and then get barbecue for dinner. It was a great opportunity to meet each other and build community.
What do you do for fun? Any hobbies? I like to read and keep up with current topics. I also like to travel and meet new people. Coming from India, I still have a lot to explore in the United States. So far, one of my favorite trips was a drive from Chicago to Miami.
